Armenia's public debt amounted to 5.541 trillion drams (approximately 14.531 billion US dollars) as of December 31, 2025.
Modern.az reports that the country's Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan informed about this at the meeting of the Parliament's Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs.
According to the minister, as of March 31, the volume of public debt increased by an additional 11 billion drams compared to the previous reporting period.
At the same time, it was noted that the ratio of public debt to gross domestic product (GDP) decreased from 48 percent to 47.3 percent based on the year-end results.
The budget deficit, instead of the planned 5.5 percent, amounted to 3.8 percent of GDP. This indicator was 418.8 billion drams in nominal terms. The average level of budget deficit in the last five years was 3.2 percent.
