Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that no decision has yet been made regarding the resumption of possible indirect talks with the US, and that discussions with Oman were of a technical nature related to determining shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

Modern.az reports that "Anadolu" agency published this information, citing statements by the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Araqchi stated that the main issue in the Islamabad agreement was "ending the war" and that the document declared the war over. According to him, after the US violated the agreement, the confrontation resumed.

The minister also clarified the issue of the 60-day ceasefire discussed in public. He noted that the aforementioned 60 days was the period intended for negotiations to reach a final agreement, and it is incorrect to evaluate it as a 60-day ceasefire.

Araqchi emphasized that Qatar and Pakistan are exchanging messages between the parties as mediators and are in contact with Iran. However, stating that this does not mean negotiations, the minister said that no decision has yet been made regarding the resumption of talks with the US.

Touching upon Iran's meetings with Oman, Araqchi clarified that this is a completely different matter. According to him, the meetings are technical work related to determining maritime routes for the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The minister stated that the previously used maritime routes are no longer suitable for operation and a new route must be determined. He said that work is currently underway on a temporary route, which will later become a permanent route.

Araqchi noted that the meetings are entirely technical in nature, with Iranian and Omani experts participating in this work, and the Iranian Armed Forces also involved in the process.

He emphasized that the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz and the technical discussions on determining shipping routes are separate issues. According to the minister, whether the strait will be reopened depends on other conditions that the US must fulfill.
