New Zealand's Elijah Just opened the scoring in the 7th minute. Iran equalized in the 32nd minute with a precise shot from Ramin Rezaeian.
In the second half, Elijah Just scored his and his team's second goal in the 55th minute, putting New Zealand ahead again. However, Iran avoided defeat thanks to a goal from Mohammad Mohebi in the 64th minute.
Thus, the match ended with a 2:2 score, and both teams added one point to their tally.
