Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that eliminating the direct nuclear threat from Iran is a significant achievement of Washington and Tel Aviv's military operation, but the fight is not over yet.

Modern.az reports, citing "The Times of Israel", that he said this at a press conference.

"We carried out the largest offensive operation in Israel's history. We struck nuclear scientists, eliminated (Iran - ed.) leaders..., destroyed nuclear facilities, destroyed missiles and the vast majority of their production plants. We inflicted enormous damage on the Iranian economy - some estimate it at hundreds of billions of dollars, and some even at a trillion dollars," he said.

Commenting on the dissatisfaction among the Israeli population and politicians regarding the end of the war against Iran, Netanyahu reiterated that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is his life's mission.

"With or without an agreement, Iran will not have nuclear weapons, neither today nor tomorrow. As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, this will not happen," he emphasized.

Netanyahu reiterated his claim that the nuclear threat from Iran posed a direct danger and that Israel, together with the US, was able to eliminate it: "We eliminated the threat of destruction of the Israeli population for many years. We did it. We saved Israel from destruction."

However, he added that the fight is not over yet: "We must continue to be vigilant, maintain our strength, our determination, and defend ourselves for as long as necessary. This does not only apply to Iran."

Netanyahu stated that Israel will continue to fight pro-Iranian forces in the region, as well as groups in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and the West Bank. He added that the Israeli army will maintain its presence in the security zones established in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria
