Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka apologized to his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelenskyy.
Modern.az reports that in an interview with Al Arabiya TV on June 15, Alexander Lukashenka unexpectedly apologized to the Ukrainian president. He also did not rule out a meeting with Donald Trump and that Americans could pressure Europe to protect Belarus' interests.
Lukashenka spoke about his polemic with Vladimir Zelenskyy.
"Perhaps I exaggerated some things in my statement, but this was a response to his inappropriate statements. It was said to my address: 'Yes, we have 500 targets, yes, we know where Lukashenka is. Tomorrow we will strike with missiles and drones.' If Vladimir Alexandrovich Zelenskyy is offended by my words, I apologize to him for that."
It should be noted that Lukashenka targeted Zelenskyy in response to threats from Robert Brovdi ("Madyar"), commander of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces.
The Belarusian leader sent a message to the Ukrainian President at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in Astana on May 29: "They may have identified 500 targets. We also have a very serious target with precise coordinates. And it is very close to Belarus."
In addition, Lukashenka called Zelenskyy's statements "idle talk" and "empty conversations," using expressions that hinted at rumors of Zelenskyy suffering from drug addiction.
