North Korea (DPRK) has further tightened its entry rules.

Modern.az reports that foreign tourism companies have released information about this.

According to the new decision, individuals with dual citizenship who also hold US citizenship in addition to another passport are completely prohibited from entering North Korea. The ban applies regardless of which passport these individuals wish to use to enter the country.

The mechanism of the rules is explained as follows in the official statement of tourism companies:

"During visa applications, it is now specifically and strictly checked whether the applicant holds US citizenship. If it is determined that the person is an American citizen, they are not allowed to enter the country. Previously, some individuals with dual citizenship tried to enter North Korea using a passport from their second country, but this loophole has now been completely closed."

According to the information provided, this rule applies to all types of visits to the country, including tourism, business, and other official and unofficial group arrivals. Companies also added that the rules may change again in the future depending on the geopolitical situation and the development of the situation in the region.
