Modern.az reports that Victory Day is celebrated every year on August 30 to commemorate the anniversary of the Great Offensive, which holds great importance in Turkish history, and the victory achieved in the Battle of Dumlupınar.
The Great Offensive began on August 26, 1922, and resulted in the victory of the Turkish army in Dumlupınar on August 30. This victory is considered one of the decisive stages in Turkey's War of Independence.
On the occasion of the holiday, official ceremonies, military parades, and various events are held in various cities of the country, especially in Ankara and Istanbul.
In Turkey, August 30 Victory Day is also celebrated as a symbol of the victory achieved under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the struggle that led to the establishment of the Republic of Turkey.
It should be noted that Victory Day is one of Turkey's most important national holidays.
