Iran expects the US to take concrete steps before moving to a new phase of diplomatic talks.
Modern.az reports with reference to IRNA that this was stated by Ali Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.
According to Bagheri, the US has repeatedly violated its commitments over the past year and a half. He stated that Tehran has the right not to trust Washington's written commitments and must see practical steps from the US for a new phase in diplomacy.
Bagheri also spoke about the message sent by Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei to Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, the message delivered by the Council's secretary Mohsen Rezayi to Putin reflected the directions Iran attaches importance to in cooperation with Russia and the prospects of bilateral relations.
Bagheri called the projects for the transfer of Russian gas to Iran and the North-South transport corridor strategically important initiatives. He believes that these projects can hinder the US plans to put pressure on Iran.
