In other statements, Lavrov called the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Moscow a "great gesture of goodwill" from Russia.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also commented on Zelensky's proposal to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the United States. Lavrov said that Zelensky is not in his own country, and the Russian leadership has enough work to do in Russia.
