Tbilisi City Court has arrested Giorgi Baramidze, former Minister of Defense of Georgia and one of the leaders of the opposition party "United National Movement".
Modern.az reports, citing Georgian media, that the country's Prosecutor General's Office has filed charges against Baramidze, who was detained at his home on September 11, under articles of the Criminal Code related to treason and sabotage.
At the court session held on September 12, the prosecutor's motion was granted and a pre-trial detention measure was chosen for Baramidze. The decision was made by Judge Eka Barbakadze.
