Iran reportedly appealed to the Russian government for new versions of “Geran” drones to be used in the war against Israel and the US.
Modern.az reports that Financial Times published this information, citing Western experts and a source close to the Kremlin.
According to the information, it is about new modifications of “Shahed” unmanned aerial vehicles, which Iran initially supplied to Russia.
According to the publication, the new versions can reach speeds of up to 600 kilometers per hour, carry warheads of up to 90 kilograms, and travel distances of up to 1000 kilometers.
It was stated that the new drones are equipped with thermal imaging cameras, artificial intelligence-based control systems, and means of protection against radio-electronic interference. It is also noted that they are provided with a network-type communication system via Chinese-made modems.
