US President Donald Trump is ready to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian within the framework of the UN General Assembly meetings. However, such a meeting is not currently planned.
Modern.az reports that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this in an interview with NBC.
"We are open to it, but nothing is planned yet. We are open to it, especially if there is a prospect of such a meeting leading to a positive outcome," Rubio said.
It should be noted that Pezeshkian went to New York to participate in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. Trump is also participating in the session. Amidst the ongoing tension between the US and Iran, a possible meeting between the two leaders is in the spotlight.
