US President Donald Trump said that talks with Iran are ongoing and that he believes the parties will eventually reach an agreement.
Modern.az reports that Trump said this after a meeting with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham in New York within the framework of the UN General Assembly. According to Reuters, US and Iranian representatives were also in contact on September 22.
“I think an agreement will be reached. They want to talk to us. Even today they talked to us and relations are developing,” Trump said.
At the same time, the US President emphasized that Washington will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.
“We cannot allow them to have nuclear weapons, and they understand that,” Trump said.
