Russia does not rule out that the issue of territorial exchange may be brought up in discussions aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

The Kremlin representative emphasized that it is not appropriate to disclose the details of a possible agreement to the public. According to him, this could harm the future peace process.

Commenting on the statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he is ready to discuss territorial exchange only with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Peskov said that such issues could be a subject of discussion within the framework of attempts at a peaceful settlement.

He noted that serious negotiations covering numerous details await the parties.

“We would not want to discuss these details openly. Because we believe that this would harm a possible future peace process,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

The press secretary of the Russian president also commented on the attack carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles at night on the city of Voronezh after the parties agreed to resume trilateral talks.

According to Peskov, the decision to resume talks does not mean imposing restrictions on the conduct of military operations.

“Our Armed Forces continue the special military operation, continue to inflict massive strikes on Ukraine's military-industrial and military facilities, as well as targets related to military activities,” he said.

Peskov added that Kyiv also continues its relevant activities.

Answering a question about whether the temporary ceasefire planned in Aleshki on October 27 could become an example for similar agreements to be reached in other directions of the front, Peskov said that this is possible on humanitarian grounds.

He specifically emphasized the role of the US side and the participants in the negotiations acting through President Donald Trump.

“We highly appreciate these efforts,” the Kremlin representative said.

According to Peskov, the agreement reached in Aleshki could set a precedent for other directions of the front. He expressed hope that the Ukrainian side will fulfill all its obligations.
