Russia has restricted the import of live fish and fish products from Armenia. The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance ("Rosselkhoznadzor") has imposed restrictions on the import of live fish and fish products from Armenia.
Modern.az reports, citing the federal service, that based on the results of inspections, as of June 2, the Armenian side must stop issuing veterinary certificates for export for all companies, with the exception of two enterprises that successfully passed the inspection. This restriction will remain in force until the current situation is fully regulated.
The products of these two enterprises, whose export is permitted, will be supplied to Russia only on condition of passing laboratory control for safety indicators.
It should be noted that official Moscow had previously imposed a ban on a number of products imported from Armenia, including various alcoholic beverages and "Jermuk" mineral waters. Also, as of May 30, temporary restrictions have been imposed on the import of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, greens, and strawberries from Armenia to Russia.
