All the teams in Group 5, where “Araz-Nakhchivan” will participate in the main stage of the UEFA Futsal Champions League, have been determined.
Modern.az reports that the Azerbaijan Futsal Federation has issued a statement regarding this.
It was stated that after the preliminary stage matches, the winner of Group C, “Buba Mara”, and the leader of Group D, “Ujpest”, became the opponents of the “red-whites”.
Actually, the draw held on July 8 had given a ticket to the winner of Group E for Group 5. However, the Armenian champion “Unisport” came first in that group. According to the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia cannot be in the same group. Therefore, the winner of Group D, not Group E, qualified for Group 5.
The matches of this stage will be held in Poland from October 27 to November 1. In Group 5, “Piast” (Poland), “Araz-Nakhchivan” (Azerbaijan), “Buba Mara” (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and “Ujpest” (Hungary) teams will test their strength.
It should be noted that “Araz-Nakhchivan” will participate in this tournament for the 21st time. Our representative is only behind Kazakhstan's “Kairat” club in this indicator.
