President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on setting the elections of deputies to the Russian State Duma for September 20.
Modern.az reports that the relevant document has been posted on the official portal of legal acts.
The document states: “The elections of deputies of the new convocation of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation shall be set for September 20, 2026.”
The decree entered into force on the day of its official publication.
Ella Pamfilova, the chairperson of the Central Election Commission, stated that preparations for the State Duma elections will begin on June 16.
The elections will be held on September 20, and a total of 450 deputies will be elected: 225 from single-mandate constituencies and 225 from the federal constituency.
The State Duma is the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia.
