Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton sharply criticized the peace agreement that US President Donald Trump is preparing to sign with Iran.
Modern.az reports that Bolton stated this agreement is extremely dangerous for Washington.
"I think this is a very bad deal for the United States. Trump is absolutely not thinking about the geostrategic consequences of this step," he emphasized.
According to Bolton, Trump is driven by completely different interests, not global security:
"He only wants the Strait of Hormuz to remain open, oil from the Gulf to reach international markets, and gasoline prices at gas stations to fall. That's all he cares about.
We still don't know what's in the clauses of this agreement. If it were truly a perfect agreement, it would have been made public by now. I think this fact alone speaks volumes."
The former advisor claimed that official Tehran skillfully used the US leader's position:
"The Iranians played Trump like a fiddle. That's why they were able to get exactly the agreement they wanted. They saw how eager Trump was to sign this agreement for months, perhaps weeks, and they simply used him as a tool for manipulation."
