US President Donald Trump stated that he prefers to publish the text of the memorandum with Iran after its official signing, but does not consider it a mandatory requirement.
Modern.az reports that Iran and the US have confirmed that they have completed work on the memorandum, which is planned to be signed in Switzerland on June 19. Trump stated that he is in favor of maximum transparency in the future agreement.
"I would like us to formalize the agreement first, but in general, I am not against its publication," the American leader told reporters.
Trump noted that after signing the document, he intends to make its content public.
"I will not just make it public. I can hold a press conference and read it to you word for word so that journalists can accurately cover it, because this is a very important document," the US President said.
According to him, the main provision of the agreement is that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons.
The President also expressed his views on the fate of Iran's enriched uranium reserves. He said that after the nuclear material is removed from Iranian territory, the US intends to destroy it.
"We are not in a hurry, but we will get it, and when we get it, we will destroy it. We will not take it for ourselves; we want to destroy it. We have a lot of it," Trump said.
