US Vice President J.D. Vance said that a possible agreement between the US and Iran would not be limited to the two countries, but would also include a number of states in the region.

Modern.az reports that he spoke about this in an interview with American journalist Megyn Kelly.

According to Vance, the envisioned agreement will include a broader regional peace mechanism in the Middle East:

“This is a regional peace agreement. It will also cover the Persian Gulf, Israel and Lebanon. The goal is a genuine regional peace agreement,” he said.

The Vice President also clarified the US's financial obligations regarding Iran and emphasized that Washington would not allocate any funds to Tehran:

“For complete clarity, I say: Even if Iran fulfills all the terms of this agreement, it will not receive a single cent from the United States.”

According to him, only if there is a change in Iran's behavior can conditions be created for other countries to invest in the country's reconstruction and economic development.

Vance added that if Tehran stops financing terrorism and changes its relations with countries in the region, this can be considered a positive development.

He also noted that if Iran wants to benefit from the agreement, issues such as uranium enrichment and international inspections will be the main topics of negotiations.

The Vice President also commented on Israel's criticisms of the agreement and added that the criticism of some parties means wanting the continuation of an endless conflict:

“They propose endless conflict. The US President does not want this to continue. Critics either do not consider the content of the document or do not offer an alternative.”

He also noted that the text of the agreement is planned to be released to the public in the coming days. According to him, the delay of the document is due to diplomatic sensitivity and the requests of intermediary countries – Pakistan and Qatar.

According to the information, within the framework of the memorandum of understanding planned to be signed on June 19, the US and Iran will continue negotiations on the final agreement for the next 60 days.
