A telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka is expected in the near future. One of the topics of discussion will be the recent statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov said that Lukashenka himself had previously informed about the planned contacts, and the upcoming conversation will provide an opportunity to discuss a number of issues.
He noted that the conversation is about the “aggressive threats” made regarding interference in Belarus's internal affairs and an attempt on the country's sovereignty. Peskov emphasized that Russia does not doubt Belarus's ability to independently ensure its sovereignty.
Earlier, Zelensky claimed that repeaters used by Russia to direct drones at targets in Ukraine were deployed on Belarusian territory. He demanded that these devices be turned off and threatened Belarus with “retaliatory measures” if this does not happen.
