The results of the graduation exams for 2025 show that the indicators for foreign languages, especially English, in schools are not at the desired level.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the "Scientific-statistical materials on the results of student admission and graduation exams for general education institutions in 2025" published in the 12th issue of the "Abituriyent" journal of the State Examination Center (SEC).
According to statistics, in 2025, graduates from 3270 schools participated in the foreign language exam for the 11th grade. Since the number of graduates taking the exam in 820 of these schools was less than 10, the analysis was mainly conducted for other schools.
According to the information, the average score for English in 76.01 percent of schools was in the 30-70 point range. In 21.64 percent of schools, the average score was 0-30, and in only 2.36 percent, it was recorded in the 70-100 point range.
In other words, the average result in English was above 70 points in only 51 schools across the country.
32 of these 51 schools are located in Baku. Among the other schools, 4 are in Sumgayit, 3 in Nakhchivan, 2 in Shirvan, 2 in Zagatala, 2 in Sheki, and 1 school each operates in Ganja, Shamkir, Balakan, Gakh, Oghuz, and Bilasuvar districts.
According to the SEC's analysis, the results for Russian were also not high. In only 1.54 percent of schools, the average score was recorded in the 70-100 range. 75.60 percent of schools showed results in the 0-30 range, and 22.86 percent in the 30-70 point range.
Out of 40 schools where German was taught, the average result was below 30 points in 22. In only one school, the average score was recorded above 70. In schools where French was taught, the average result was 0-30 in 64.06 percent, and 30-70 points in 35.94 percent.
