Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has left for Islamabad as the head of a high-level delegation to hold meetings with Pakistani officials.

Modern.az reports that Pezeshkian flew to Pakistan on a special plane called “Minab-168” to commemorate those who died in the last war, especially the 168 students of Minab school, who are said to have lost their lives as a result of attacks by the US and Israel.

During the visit, the Iranian president will discuss bilateral relations, regional cooperation, security and other issues of mutual interest with the Pakistani leadership.

Pezeshkian stated that the main goal of the government is to protect the rights of the Iranian people and to strengthen peace and security in the region.

The president noted that this visit is being made at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and the Pakistani leadership played an important role in the process of preparing the memorandum between Iran and the US. He specifically emphasized the efforts of Pakistan's Prime Minister, army commander Asim Munir and interior minister Mohsin Naqvi.
