The number of victims of the earthquake in Venezuela has reached 2,295.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, on the air of "Venezolana de Televisión" channel.
"The number of deaths as a result of two earthquakes has reached 2,295, and the number of injured is 11,267," he noted.
Earlier, 1943 deaths were reported.
Delcy Rodriguez, acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, announced today on her "Telegram" channel that a seven-day national mourning is declared in the country in memory of the earthquake victims.
It should be recalled that on the night of June 25, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in northern Venezuela. The US Geological Survey later reported two tremors of 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude with a 40-second difference. The country's authorities have declared a state of emergency.
