Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regularly consults with Russian President Vladimir Putin on regional issues.
Modern.az reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated this in an interview with CNN.
"As you know, our president constantly consults with Mr. Putin. Because look at our region, which is important for us, the ongoing conflict in the Black Sea basin. The Caucasus is important for us, as are Central Asia and the Middle East. In all these regions, as well as in Africa and Libya, Turkey pursues an effective foreign and economic policy," he said.
Fidan added that it is important for the Turkish leadership to learn Putin's views on regional and other foreign policy issues directly from him.
