Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei criticized the sanctions imposed by the US against Iranian officials.
Modern.az reports that Baghaei accused Washington of exerting economic pressure on Iranian citizens and called the measures announced by the US against some Iranian officials a “theater.”
According to him, the sanctions imposed by the US affect the daily lives and economic situation of the Iranian people.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also stated that the US media and propaganda did not pay attention to large-scale sanctions affecting the livelihood of the entire population of the country, instead highlighting restrictions on the ability of individual officials to use club cards of certain stores.
Baghaei assessed this approach as an indicator of double standards in US policy against Iran.
