The Iranian Armed Forces still hold the initiative in the Strait of Hormuz.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the chief spokesman of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Sardar Shekarchi.
He criticized the statement of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) regarding the escort of oil tankers and the removal of 1 billion barrels of oil from the region in the last two months.
"CENTCOM commander's baseless and ridiculous claims about the escort of oil tankers and the removal of 1 billion barrels of oil in the last two months are a failed psychological operation aimed at boosting the morale of the tired and exhausted US military personnel in the region, as well as justifying the US's large financial and human losses in the region, rather than reality," Shekarchi said.
The Iranian general added that such statements cannot change the reality of the US army's withdrawal from the region.
"The initiative in the Strait of Hormuz is still in the hands of Iran's powerful armed forces," he emphasized.
