US President Donald Trump has announced that his country will stop financial aid to Israel by the end of 2026.
Modern.az reports that a statement attributed to Trump notes that Washington will not continue financial support to Israel.
"We will no longer allocate money to Israel. We will stop payments to Israel by the end of this year. They do not object to this," the US President is quoted as saying.
According to Trump, if the need arises, the US may provide aid to Israel again.
It should be noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously announced that his country intends to gradually abandon US military financial aid. Under the current agreement, the US has committed to providing approximately $3.8 billion in military aid to Israel annually until 2028.
