A new criminal prosecution has been launched in Armenia against individuals associated with the criminal underworld, with charges brought against a person known as a “thief in law” and individuals accused of involvement with a criminal group.
Modern.az reports that, according to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, A.H., known by the nickname “Tetsik,” approached V.H., who holds a high status in the criminal hierarchy – Vardan Asatryan, known as “thief in law Bje” – to resolve a personal dispute.
Allegedly, Vardan Asatryan instructed “Tetsik” to recognize and punish S.P., known by the nickname “Gojo,” as a discredited person for having previously testified against representatives of the criminal subculture in the framework of criminal cases.
According to the information, a public criminal prosecution has been initiated against Vardan Asatryan under Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code – acquisition, maintenance, or transfer of high status in the criminal hierarchy.
A.H., on the other hand, has been charged under Article 324.1 of the Criminal Code – participation in a group carrying a criminal subculture or involvement in such activity.
