Obesity rates in the world have been announced.
Modern.az reports that according to “Gallup World Poll” 2026 statistics, Azerbaijan ranks 120th in the rating of 197 countries. The total obesity rate in the country is 28.45 percent.
Among the countries in the region, Georgia ranks 170th with 38.78 percent, Turkey 154th with 34.22 percent, and Armenia 117th with 27.78 percent. Russia ranks 115th with 27.7 percent, Uzbekistan 124th with 29.38 percent, and Ukraine 125th with 29.46 percent.
Turkmenistan stands out with one of the lowest indicators in the region. The obesity level in this country is 19.38 percent and it ranks 75th in the world rating.
Countries with the lowest obesity rates in the world are mainly Asian and African states. The list is headed by Vietnam with 1.72 percent. It is followed by East Timor and Ethiopia.

4th place Rwanda — 3.7 percent
5th place Cambodia — 3.72 percent

9th place Democratic Republic of Congo — 4.65 percent
10th place Niger — 4.67 percent
At the bottom of the ranking are mainly island states in the Pacific Ocean basin.
