The leadership of the European Union has expressed deep concern about the events taking place in Iran.
Modern.az reports that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa stated that ensuring nuclear safety and preventing actions that would further escalate tensions are of vital importance.
It was noted that the European Union has imposed large-scale sanctions in response to the activities of Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and continues diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving issues related to nuclear and ballistic programs through negotiations.
The leadership called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, protect civilians, and fully comply with international law.
