"Putin's goal is not only to seize the Donetsk region, but to capture all of Ukraine and destroy Ukrainian statehood."
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevgeny Khmara.
According to him, the Kremlin views the war as part of its project to build its empire, and the ultimate goal is to take control of the entire territory of Ukraine.
Khmara believes that therefore, territorial concessions will not stop Russia's aggression. In his opinion, Putin will perceive these concessions as proof that pressure is yielding results and will continue the pressure:
"Only the feeling that he is starting to lose the war can stop Putin. This can only be achieved by force and effectively."
