Peter Magyar, leader of the "Tisa" party, has been elected Prime Minister of Hungary at the first session of the newly convened State Assembly (unicameral parliament).
Modern.az reports that his candidacy was supported by 140 deputies, 54 deputies voted against, and 1 person abstained.
Immediately after the results of the vote, which was broadcast live by national television companies, Peter Magyar was sworn in as the country's new head of government.
He will replace Viktor Orbán, who, after 16 years of continuous rule, moved to the opposition with his "FIDESZ - Hungarian Civic Alliance" party.
