Armenia continues negotiations with Russia regarding the construction of a railway to the Turkish border.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
He noted that the missing section that caused the Gyumri-Kars railway not to operate must be built:
“We are currently negotiating with our Russian counterparts. It would be good if we could implement this project with them. Otherwise, we will find another solution. But this issue must be resolved.”
According to the minister, Armenia has a historical opportunity to become an alternative cargo transportation route between East and West.
“We will not miss this opportunity. Therefore, the issue must be resolved,” he added.
