Former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has been re-elected as the chairman of the Fidesz–Hungarian Civic Alliance Party for another year.

Modern.az reports that the decision was made at the party's national congress held in Budapest.

According to the voting results, Orban's candidacy was supported by 729 delegates, while 8 delegates remained neutral.

Within the framework of the congress, new deputy chairmen of the party and members of the board of directors representing all regions of the country were also determined. Delegates decided to renew FIDES's structure, expand its membership base, and develop a new party program that meets the changing expectations of young voters in particular.

During his speech, Viktor Orban emphasized that he does not intend to step back and declared that FIDES will continue to fight to return to power.
