7 participants of a protest against asylum seekers have been arrested in Wijk bij Duurstede, Netherlands.

Last night, a peaceful protest in front of the town hall building turned into riots. The windows and doors of the town hall, as well as a video surveillance camera, were broken, and participants in the riot entered the building.
A special unit for combating riots was involved in dispersing the crowd. According to the municipality, at least 80 police officers were mobilized to suppress the riots.
According to information, local authorities plan to create temporary shelter for 50-75 asylum seekers in an area not far from the old center of the city.
