It is reported that the signing of a new agreement between Iran and the US is scheduled for June 14.
According to Modern.az, US President Donald Trump shared this on the social network "Truth Social".
Trump noted that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed during the time of former US President Barack Obama created opportunities for Iran to develop nuclear weapons. According to him, the current agreement reached between Washington and Tehran, on the contrary, serves to ensure global nuclear security.
"The agreement I reached with Iran is the exact opposite and a strong barrier against nuclear proliferation. In fact, Iran no longer intends to acquire nuclear weapons and will not have them. It will not be able to possess such a weapon by purchasing, developing, or any other means," Trump emphasized.
The US President added that the signing of the agreement is scheduled for Sunday, and immediately after that, the Strait of Hormuz will be open to all countries.
He stated that relations between the parties have significantly improved compared to previous periods. According to Trump, the US also plans to remove enriched uranium from Iranian territory.
"We look forward to future cooperation with Iran and the Middle East as a whole. I hope this process will be completed quickly and smoothly. Otherwise, we also have a last alternative. I hope there will be no need to resort to it again," the US President noted.
