New details have emerged regarding the horrific murder that occurred in the Bolnisi region of Georgia.
Modern.az reports that a 42-year-old woman stabbed her 7-year-old son to death and then attempted suicide.
According to the information, the incident took place in the village of Damirli (Khakhalajvari) in Bolnisi municipality. It is reported that the woman also inflicted knife wounds on herself, but doctors were able to save her life.
The murdered child was identified as 7-year-old Farrukh Ahmadov, and the person accused of the crime was Svetlana Ahmadova. It was noted that the woman is a citizen of Azerbaijan.
According to available information, although family members tried to hide what happened after the incident, the information became public shortly after.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia stated that the woman has been detained. An investigation is being conducted under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for the intentional murder of a minor under aggravating circumstances.
Local media reported that the woman had psychological problems. However, there is no official statement from the relevant authorities regarding this yet.
