"Today, the opening ceremony of the IV Shusha Global Media Forum on "The Mission of Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust" is being held in Shusha city with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. During his speech at the opening of the Forum, the President of Azerbaijan stated that our country is currently working on expanding infrastructure related to connections."
Modern.az reports that MP Vugar Bayramov shared this on his social media account. The MP noted that the new order formed in the region after Azerbaijan's glorious victory creates a special basis for further expansion of regional connections:
"One of the important aspects of the new order in the region is the commissioning of the Zangazur corridor. The construction of the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP), which will be an element of the corridor, will allow the restoration of land transport between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. After the corridor is put into operation, the delivery time of goods sent from China to London will be reduced to 18 days.
With a transmission potential of 15 million tons, the Zangazur corridor will make a special contribution to the development of the region. The Zangazur corridor, which will become an important segment of the Middle Corridor in the near future, will not only serve to further strengthen Azerbaijan's geopolitical position, but also enable an increase in the revenues of the region's states. The trade turnover between continents is expected to increase by 200 billion dollars. 10-15% of the cargo is expected to be transported through the Zangazur corridor.
Based on 10-year forecasts, the Zangazur corridor has the potential to generate 50 billion dollars in revenue and contribute to the creation of more than 60,000 new jobs annually.
Zangazur corridor will be integrated into both North-South and East-West transport corridors. This means more cargo transportation through this corridor. As a result, it will also allow the expansion of the Middle Corridor, which means that Azerbaijan will earn more revenue from international cargo transportation as a result of the commissioning of the Zangazur corridor. At the same time, it will provide an opportunity to export its products to new markets through alternative routes.
Zangazur corridor is a land transport corridor that will unite the Turkic world. It will make a special contribution to the development of the Turkic world. In this regard, the commissioning of the Zangazur corridor will contribute to the restoration of land communication between Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the lifting of the blockade of Nakhchivan, and the economic development of the entire Turkic world, including Azerbaijan."
