Shirvan Kerimov, head of the public organization "League of Azerbaijanis of Samara Region" operating in the Samara region, has been deprived of Russian citizenship.
Modern.az reports with reference to Russian media that the reason for this decision has not yet been disclosed.
It is reported that law enforcement agencies have recently been paying special attention to representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora. Their possible connections with ethnic organized criminal groups are being investigated.
It should be recalled that last year, Islam Huseynov, the leader of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Ulyanovsk, was also deprived of Russian citizenship.
Currently, Shirvan Kerimov is a member of the Public Chamber of the Samara Region and a lawyer of the "Pravovoy Sovetnik" Samara Bar Association.
