Germany is strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure facilities from drone attacks.
Modern.az reports with reference to the “Bild” newspaper that after the discovery of a drone equipped with explosives at Leipzig-Halle airport, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced that the federal police's anti-drone unit is planned to be expanded.
According to information obtained by the publication from government circles, the number of personnel of the special unit is planned to be increased from approximately 150 to 300 people. At the same time, the number of operational bases will be increased from 4 to 8. This will increase the possibilities of more operative intervention in case of danger to strategic locations such as airports, military facilities and important logistics centers.
It is reported that the new points will be equipped with modern technologies that detect drones, block their control signals and neutralize them.
