The Pakistani government announced late Monday night that the signing ceremony of the peace agreement between Iran and the United States will be held in Switzerland on Friday.
Modern.az reports that Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that the parties have reached an agreement on a peace treaty.
Previously, technical delegations from Iran and the US will discuss the provisions of the agreement. Pakistan's statement says that the parties have agreed to stop military confrontations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
Sharif's statement also praised Qatar's mediation efforts.
US President Donald Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that “the agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran has already been completed.”
The full statement by Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announcing the peace agreement between the US and Iran:
“After intensive negotiations, we are pleased to announce that a peace agreement has been REACHED between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Both sides have declared an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
The official signing ceremony will take place on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland. We thank the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict.
We also express our sincere gratitude to the great leadership of Qatar for their support in this mediation process.
In addition, I extend special thanks to the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their great contributions in this direction.
Once the agreement is reached, the mediators will organize a series of meetings this week. These preliminary discussions will set the stage for technical talks and the official signing ceremony.”
