Italy, France, Germany and Great Britain have stated that if an agreement is reached between Tehran and Washington and Iran fulfills its obligations under the nuclear program, they are ready to lift the sanctions imposed on Iran.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in a joint statement issued on June 15 on behalf of the four European states by the Italian government.
In the document, these countries welcomed the announcement of a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran, stating their readiness to support the further resolution of the conflict.
“We sincerely welcome the announced news regarding the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran. Iran must never possess nuclear weapons,” the joint statement said.
The authors of the document emphasized that they are ready to cooperate with the US, Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to monitor the implementation of the agreements.
“We are ready to lift the relevant sanctions in response to Iran’s clear and reliable steps regarding its nuclear program,” the statement said.
In addition, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that if necessary, London is ready to form an independent multilateral defense mission to carry out demining operations.
According to the British government, Great Britain and France previously played a key role in planning such an initiative.
