US President Donald Trump announced that oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz have reached a record high.
Modern.az reports that Trump shared this on his social media account.
According to him, 19 million barrels of oil were transported through the Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours, which is the highest figure ever recorded.
"Yesterday, 19 million barrels of oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz. This is an all-time record. Oil prices are falling rapidly and the world is becoming a safer place," the US President said.
It should be noted that the Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the main routes for global energy supply. The stability of the situation in this region directly affects oil prices in world markets.
