US President Donald Trump said that Washington has lifted the naval blockade imposed on Tehran in exchange for concessions made by Iran regarding its nuclear program.
Modern.az reports that Trump wrote about this on his Truth Social platform.
However, he stated that the blockade could be reinstated if necessary.
"Based on these and other significant concessions by Iran, I agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open without an additional naval blockade. However, all ships remain in their positions to reinstate the blockade if necessary. Currently, such a possibility seems extremely low."
According to Trump, the US Navy continues its operations in the region, but under current circumstances, the re-imposition of a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz is not expected. This statement comes against the backdrop of recent agreements reached between Washington and Tehran on the nuclear issue.
