Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned Western countries about their direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine and the consequences this could have for Moscow.

Modern.az reports with reference to Russian media that Putin announced that Western states are not yet risking launching any military means against Russia from their territories:

"Because they well understand the scale of the retaliatory strike that will follow."

According to him, it is precisely because of the fear of this retaliatory strike that the West tries to stay away from attacks on Russian territory as much as possible and not to take direct responsibility.

To substantiate his point, the Russian President cited recent incidents involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) entering the airspace of the Baltic countries. He emphasized that even in such situations, these countries are wary of making direct accusations against Moscow:

"Even in such situations, they avoid official accusations. They try to explain what happened with other excuses, such as 'Ukrainian drone', technical error, or system failure."
