Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has confirmed that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit Armenia soon.
Modern.az reports that Pashinyan spoke about this in a statement to journalists after a government meeting.
Pashinyan stated that one of the main issues to be discussed during Ursula von der Leyen's visit to Yerevan will be the simplification of access for Armenian agricultural products to the European Union market.
"Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan recently participated in a meeting of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. As a result, a basis has been formed for the creation of new opportunities in this direction. Armenia has the potential to gain unique opportunities in this area. I hope that we will be able to finalize the relevant project with the President of the European Commission and make a joint statement about it during her visit to Yerevan," Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister also touched upon the prospects of regional cooperation, stating that Armenia will inevitably integrate into regional programs implemented within the framework of the TRIPP project.
According to Pashinyan, it is time for the South Caucasus countries to approach the region as a single space.
"The South Caucasus countries should see the region as a single space where common interests exist. Of course, each state has its own national interests and views. However, I believe that there are also sufficiently broad common interests that unite us, and we must continue to work in this direction," emphasized the Armenian Prime Minister.
