Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the 1990s, the social sphere, industry and defense complex in the country were seriously weakened.
Modern.az reports that when characterizing that period, Putin used the expression “in the 90s, they completely destroyed the social sphere, industry and defense sector.”
At the same time, changes in some key indicators of Russia from 2000 to the present are also being discussed on social networks and in the media.
According to the data, while the population of Russia was 147 million people in 2000, currently this figure is 143 million people.
The number of schools in the country decreased from 68,100 to 37,979. The number of hospitals also decreased from 10,700 to 5,044.
At the same time, it is reported that the volume of emergency housing stock has increased. Thus, the emergency housing stock, which was 9 million square meters in 2000, has now increased to 24 million square meters.
