In Armenia, the "Araratcement" plant, owned by businessman and politician Gagik Tsarukyan, has been placed under state management and protection.

Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that the Prosecutor General's Office's request in this regard was granted by the court.

According to the information, state bodies demand the confiscation of a large amount of property and funds from Tsarukyan.

Within the framework of the claim, from him:

- 75 real estate objects and the market value of 10 more objects;

- 42 vehicles

- shares in 38 companies, including participation shares in "Multi Group" concern, "Multi Avtotrans" LLC, "Onira Club" LLC and other legal entities;

- more than 105 billion drams (approximately 284 million US dollars) including illegal income balance and issued loans are demanded to be transferred to the state.

It is reported that 57 of the 75 real estate properties requested for confiscation are located in Yerevan.

It should be noted that earlier Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made harsh statements against Gagik Tsarukyan's business. He stated that he would "break Tsarukyan's business backbone," take away his properties, including "Araratcement," and turn his house into a center for serving the elderly.
