Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said that Israel has ambitions in the region and that Damascus is taking this into account.
Modern.az reports that al-Sharaa spoke about this during his speech.
He stated that efforts are being made to reach a security agreement with the participation of a group of countries. The goal is to pressure Israel to encourage it to pursue a more balanced policy on Syria and other issues.
According to al-Sharaa, Syria does not intend to engage in meaningless conflicts.
“We do not want to be the inheritors of a historical legacy accompanied by numerous political mistakes over the last 80 years. We do not intend to repeat the same methods and achieve the same unsuccessful results,” the Syrian President emphasized.
